On the fourth Saturday of the month, this is a car show experience you could and should enjoy. Nestled in a grassy area between the highway and the flea
market shops, there are sections that are even shaded instead of the sun baked asphalt parking lots most have come to expect. And what a deal..$5 buys a spot among the classics and members of The Villages Antique Auto Club (the host group) are free. Also provided are golf cart rides to and from the flea market, DJ music during the show, and food and beverages prepared on site at very reasonable prices. Many vehicles begin arriving early to secure those much sought after shady areas. Various car clubs from The Villages also make the short pilgrimage from the nearby base. You will see decals on vehicles showing membership the such groups as the Corvette Club, Mustang Club, Convertible Club, etc. Even a pretty good assortment of British cars are present. Looking through the photos, you should notice a yellow Morris Minor imported from Australia, and also an Anglia from the UK.
Milt Volosyn was displaying his 1978, 25th Anniversary Corvette. It has a 350 c.i. engine, three speed automatic, mirrored T-tops, and Hooker manifold leading to side pipes. Milt has added some personalized touches and updates to his C3, while trying to keep it looking as stock as possible. Milt had always wanted a Corvette and in 1963 at 17 years old was on his way to buy a split window coupe, but the insurance was just too high. Instead, he purchased a 1964 Impala 327 four speed, which had significantly lower insurance rates. In 2008 with ‘63 split windows commanding six figures, this C3 fell into the affordable range, and isn’t it just a beauty. You should hear it!
Bob Pugliese also has an outstanding car, a 1958 Chevy Impala with a 348. This vehicle is picture perfect, and Bob will tell you about his adventures of bringing
his Chevy from NY to The Villages. Like his “car-show mate”, he also supports this venue as well as the Spanish Springs show on the third Saturday of the month.
