The purpose of the Gonzalez United Methodist Church (GUMC) Youth/Branden Penegar Memorial Car Show is to raise funds for the construction of a building for the youth group of GUMC. The show is named in honor of Branden Penegar. Branden was a member of the youth group. and even after “aging out” at age 18, he continued to serve as a mentor and chaperone. He died unexpectedly shortly before his 21st birthday. Branden loved cars and the youth group-so this is our way of remembering him. The GUMC youth group does not have a place of their own in which to meet and hold activities-we are working on changing that! Spectators are free.
