On the second Saturday of each month, the Cruisin Couples Car Club hosts a car show, complete with live, period correct, band. This month it was a “Buddy Holly” tribute group which proved themselves to be a welcome addition to this event.
By my account, there were approximately 160 entries ranging from the Model “T” era to a few modern participants. Car owners are also encouraged to dress in the period of their vehicle. Towards the end of the show, hand made trophies are awarded, and the ten winners of these are paraded down Main Street to Mel’s Diner.
The old Main Street edifices make a picturesque backdrop for the vehicles, but more than that, they enclose shops and eateries not to be missed. No fast food here, genuine hospitality with well prepared meals or snacks. It’s an event that will relax you and entertain you as well.
