This story begins in 1986, my wife and I ordered a new 1985 21 foot Wellcraft Scarab, the problem was we needed a tow vehicle and my wife refused to drive a truck. After some careful research, we decided the 1986 Cutlass 442 would do the trick; posi traction rearend, H.O. 307 V8, and the black went very nicely with the black and blue colors on the Scarab. In 1987 we got a bigger boat
that would be kept in the water and no longer needed the tow vehicle, so it was sold. The problem is I always missed that car and about 8-10 years ago I began a very casual search to see if I could find another one. Â
Present day, about two weeks ago while going through my normal automotive listing sites, I found a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. It had the exact same list of options that our 86 had including the factory installed solar sunroof but this one was blue and silver. It was especially interesting to me as it had 3546 miles / 5708 kilometers. That's right, the car was in Canada. It was a dealer that had it and had bought the car in 2023 from the original owner, with about 2500 miles!!! The dealer kept the car for himself for about 3 years putting another 1000 miles on it.Â
